Jonathon (Jonny) Maged Abdal is a first-year doctoral student in the Philosophy Department at Michigan State University. He received an MA in Philosophy (Science, Medicine, and Society track) with Merit at Durham University in Durham, United Kingdom. In his master’s dissertation, he argues that medical and psychiatric taxonomists cannot actively adopt promiscuous realism without abandoning the theory’s virtues. Prior to his master’s studies, he received a BA in Philosophy with department honors from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 2017.
